Agreeing to these terms
These terms cover your use of the Forest Lake Concrete website and any concrete work you hire us to do. They apply to every page on the site, from the home page to our service and city pages. By using the site, asking for an estimate or booking a job with us, you agree to them.
If you don't agree with something here, please don't use the site. Call us first if you'd like to talk it through.
When your signed estimate or contract says something different from these terms, the signed document controls for your job.
What we do
Forest Lake Concrete is a concrete contractor in Forest Lake, MN. We build driveways, patios, sidewalks, steps, garage floors, retaining walls, footings, foundations and other concrete work for homes and businesses in Forest Lake and the cities around it. We're fully licensed and insured. You can read more about us on our About page.
The descriptions and photos on this site show the kind of work we do and how we usually go about it. They aren't a promise about your project, because every yard, base and pour is different. The scope of your job is whatever your written estimate or contract says.
Estimates and pricing
Our estimates are free, done in person and obligation-free. We price the job from what we can see on site, including the size, how hard the area is to reach, any old concrete to tear out, the condition of the ground and the finish you choose.
Some things only show up once the old slab is out and the ground is open, like soft or wet soil under it, buried debris or roots. If that changes the work, we'll stop, explain what we found and get your OK before we do anything that costs more. The price also changes if you ask us to change the size, finish or scope after the estimate.
An estimate holds for the time written on it, because material prices move. After that, we may need to update it before we schedule your job.
Scheduling, weather and cancellations
The dates we give you are our best target, and the weather has the final say. We won't pour in rain, hard cold or heat that would leave you with a weak slab, so we'll move your date when conditions aren't right and tell you as soon as we know.
Before we arrive, please mark any sprinkler lines, private wiring, pet fences or other buried lines on your property, and move vehicles and anything else out of the work area. We aren't responsible for damage to buried lines that weren't marked and that we had no reasonable way to know about.
New concrete needs time to cure, which is the wait while it hardens and gains strength. We'll tell you when you can walk on it and when you can drive on it. Damage from using it sooner than that isn't covered.
If you need to cancel or move your job, tell us as early as you can. If you cancel after we've ordered materials, booked equipment or started work, you'll owe for those costs and the work done so far, as your contract sets out.
Payment
Your written estimate or contract lists the payment schedule, any deposit and the ways you can pay. Final payment is due when the work is done, as your contract describes.
If a payment is late, we may pause work until it's caught up, and we may use the remedies Minnesota law gives contractors to collect what's owed for work on a property.
Our guarantee and what concrete does on its own
Your satisfaction is guaranteed. If something about our work doesn't look right to you, call us and we'll come out, look at it with you and make it right where our workmanship is the cause. Any written warranty for your job is in your contract, and its terms control.
Concrete can crack, even when it's built right. We cut control joints, which are grooves that give the slab a planned place to crack, but hairline cracks, small shade differences and minor surface variation are normal and aren't defects.
Our guarantee doesn't cover damage from things outside our work, like deicing salt, loads heavier than the slab was built for, frost movement, water running onto the slab from elsewhere, ground we didn't prepare, or changes and repairs made by someone else.
This website and its content are provided as is. We try to keep it accurate, but we don't promise it's complete, current or free of errors.
Limits on our liability
To the extent the law allows, Forest Lake Concrete isn't liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses, like lost use of your driveway, lost income or damage that comes from relying on this website.
For any claim about a job, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us for that job. Nothing in these terms takes away rights you have under Minnesota law that can't be waived.
Settling a disagreement
If you're unhappy with something, call us first. Most problems get solved when we stand on the slab together and talk about it.
If we can't settle it that way, we both agree to try mediation in good faith before going to court. If it still isn't resolved, it will go to the courts serving the county where the work was done.
Which state's law applies
These terms and any work we do are governed by the laws of the State of Minnesota, without regard to rules that would apply another state's law.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time, and the version on this page is the current one. Changes don't affect a job already under a signed contract unless we both agree in writing.
